Our commitment to the planet (and the Cévennes!)

Anxious to preserve the beauty and resources of our beautiful region, we are committed to minimizing the ecological impact of our cottage. To help us in this process during your stay, here are some easy-to-do eco-gestures:

Let's preserve the water
Water is a valuable resource, especially here in the summer.
In the shower: Choose short showers.
To the toilet: Use the double flow button (small or large flush) according to the need to avoid waste.
In the garden: To water or rinse your feet, use rainwater! A dedicated tap is located outside, just under the linden.

Let's consume energy at the rhythm of the sun
The cottage is equipped with photovoltaic panels that produce green electricity during the day.
Household appliances: We invite you to launch the washing machine and the dishwasher exclusively during the day to directly enjoy this solar energy.
Thermal comfort & air conditioning: If you use air conditioning, run it during the day thanks to photovoltaics. In case of high heat (heatwave), have the reflex to close the shutters of the room and the openings in the morning to keep the natural freshness of the house.

Less waste, more nature
Selective sorting: Please use the different containers made available to you in the cottage to separate the glass, plastic / carton and household garbage.
Compost: For all your organic waste (peels, coffee grounds, remains of plant meals), a composter is installed in the garden, under the linden tree. Nature says thank you!
Many thanks for your contribution to the protection of our environment. Excellent stay in Aujac!

Waste disposal points and sanitation

- Selective sorting of waste: the sorting instructions are specified in the closet under the sink or on the site of Ales by typing the name of the commune (Aujac). Household waste is to be deposited at the crossroads of the communal road and the RD 55, the paper and the glass on the edge of the RD 55 by going to Aujac above the place called "Moulin Pistou", the vegetable waste, between the 2nd and the 3rd meadow, after the linden, in the composter, under the wall. Additional buckets are available to make sorting easier.
- Sanitation: the house is equipped with a septic tank. Only feces and toilet paper can be thrown into the toilet. Precise instructions on the toilet.

Discovering the natural heritage

The creation of the Cévennes National Park in 1970 made it possible to accelerate the protection of exceptional fauna and flora. In the Cévennes it is more than 2,400 species of animals and more than 2,300 species of flowers and ferns that you have at your fingertips.

To help you in the determination and knowledge of species present some of our favorite applications downloadable for free from the Play Store or the Apple Store: PLANT NET (for the identification of plants), CHAMPIGNOUF (for the identification of mushrooms) or BIRD NET (for the identification of birds from their songs).

Some suggestions for your hikes

We recommend the VISORANDO application, downloadable for free from the Play Store or the App Store. Link to the app's website
It allows you to use your phone as a GPS for hiking. It is the ideal tool for people who want to experiment with new journeys without making mistakes.
Access to IGN 1/25.000 cards is free for 3 days. After this time the application switches to an Open Street Map background which is free. Cost of the IGN card: € 18.99 for an annual subscription covering the entire national territory.
Possibility to use Visorando offline by downloading the card part that interests you beforehand. Without an internet connection, it is possible to use the GPS of your phone without additional cost.
To search for the hikes around the cottage, type the location: Aujac 30450.

You will find a number of hikes in the section ACTIVITIES / under section Hiking, or in the BLOG.

From the application VISORANDO we advise you more particularly: "La petite loop du Bois de Païolive" (departure from Les Vans 13 km from the cottage, 5 km, easy, 1h40, there is also the large loop for a circuit of 5h15), "Le tour du lac de Villefort" (departure 14 km from the cottage, 7 km, 2h40, easy). You can find these 2 hikes with photos on the blog of the site Castagnère .

Of course you can use VISORANDO to discover the small hikes that we recommend around the cottage; it is always useful to locate yourself via the GPS on the IGN map so as not to get lost...

The latest additional feature, the Ales Agglo Evasion app also downloads from the App Store or Google Play.
